Originally from UK, after a stint of working in German hotels, I trained as a podiatrist at University College London, which gave me a thorough grounding in all aspects of the medical sciences.
After 10 years' clinical experience in the UK National Health Service, I moved to France and spent some time teaching and writing.
I then decided to combine my love of medicine, languages, and writing. I started an MA in Translation at the UK Open University, passing with merit.
I haven’t looked back since. Since one of the keys to success in the translation business is specialisation, I restricted my language pair to German-to-English only.
I am now settled in Bordeaux with my family, and when I’m not translating or writing, I can be found playing the sax or clowning.
